Toll Collect
Germany’s road toll system
What is Toll Collect?
Where does Toll Collect apply?
The Toll Collect system covers Germany’s road network on which road tolls are payable. This includes all motorways and federal roads, including those within built-up areas. The total length of the toll road network is around 51,000 kilometres.
Under the Federal Road Toll Act, some motorway sections are exempt from tolls. These include:
- the section of the A6 motorway from the German-French border to the Saarbrücken-Fechingen junction in both directions;
- the section of the A5 motorway from the German-Swiss and German-French borders to the Müllheim/Neuenburg junction in both directions;
- other motorway sections exempt from tolls under the relevant regulations.
The Federal Office for Logistics and Mobility (BALM) publishes the official toll road network on its website at www.mauttabelle.de. Detailed information on individual toll road sections is available there.
