"New Generation"" Foundation celebrates its fourth anniversary

In January this year, the charity from the Belarusian Brest celebrated its fourth anniversary. We asked Helena Zacharowa, the director of the Foundation, to tell us about the results of the association's work.

Helena, first of all, we would like to congratulate the employees and the young people of the ""New Generation"" Foundation on its fourth anniversary. May all your plans come true!

-Thank you very much. Of course, we have a lot of plans, and the number of children we help is growing every day, so we will try very hard”(smile).

-Please share with our readers what, four years ago, did it all start with?

-The ""New Generation"" Foundation was established with children in mind and for children. Initially, we only supported gifted children. A scholarship named after Vladimir Lazarievich Staycki was founded for talented students of the Junior High School no. 1 in Brest, and a year later also for graduates of the Junior High School. Gradually, we have developed three more charity projects that we are currently implementing. Today, the Foundation supports financially and materially not only gifted students but also orphaned children, children with disabilities, children from orphanages and large and poor families.

-What specific steps are you taking to implement your charity programs?

-The ""New Generation"" is constantly carrying out various actions and taking part in many charity events. For example, for the second year in a row, the Foundation has been sponsoring the festival on the occasion of the Day of the Disabled, ""Sun in Everyone"". In the summer we organize trips for boys and girls, we sponsor their trips to health and treatment camps. Before the beginning of the school year we carry out the ""We will equip children to school” action. We buy warm clothes, shoes and school supplies for them. Gifts are also handed over to those who leave school and enter adult life. Before New Year's Eve, when everyone is waiting for holidays, ""The New Generation"" is carrying out the ""Believe in Miracles"" action in which all the pupils of the Foundation receive souvenirs with sweets. For example, this year we handed out over 1,000 sets of sweets to children. In addition, especially for the pupils of Brzegt's orphanage, we organize the New Year's action - ""Letter to Ded Moros"". Children write about their dreams, and we are happy to make them come true.

- Helena, can you tell us about the results of the Foundation's work over these four years?

-We can't say it was an easy time, but we have achieved a lot. In total, the ""New Generation"" is now helping 15 educational, sports and social institutions, as well as boarding schools. In addition, we have disabled pupils to whom we regularly provide the necessary medical preparations and hygienic measures. During these four years, the 'New Generation' responded with aid to 672 notifications. And maybe it's not a huge number yet, but every request met is children's happiness. We couldn't have achieved all this if it wasn't for the constant support of the sponsors. They allow us to help many children every month and make them feel happier."
